Pi Records is an independent register of people who have memorized the digits of π — and proved it.
Reciting π is one of the oldest feats of memory. People have done it for fun, for charity, for school, and for world records. But results have long been scattered across newspaper clippings, forum posts, and video links, each measured a little differently.
We started Pi Records to give every attempt a fair, consistent home. Whether you’ve learned 100 digits for Pi Day or 70,000 over a decade, your result is checked against the same published rules and listed alongside everyone else’s.
The project is run entirely by volunteers — mathematicians, teachers, and memory athletes — and is free to enter. We don’t sell data, and we never charge for verification.
How an attempt is verified
- 1
You submit
Send your result with a video link or two witness contacts.
- 2
Two volunteers check it
Each verifier independently compares your recitation with the reference expansion of π.
- 3
It enters the rankings
Once both agree, your attempt is ranked and added to every club you qualify for.
